Press Release - Sutton Says Thanks on National Farmer’s Day

BURKE - Senator Billie Sutton, candidate for South Dakota Governor, today released a statement thanking South Dakota farmers on National Farmer’s Day. Sutton expressed his support for South Dakota producers, and his “Planting Seeds for Growth” plan outlines how he’ll work to strengthen ag as governor.

Sutton said, “The whole world owes a big thank you to farmers for the hard, tireless work they do to put food on our plates, but especially in South Dakota, farmers are the backbone of not only our economy, but also our heritage and way of life. When ag is strong, South Dakota is strong, and I’m going to work hard as Governor to support our farm families.”

Sutton’s plan outlines his priorities in advocating for our family farmers and ranchers to bolster agriculture in South Dakota by building our markets, ensuring success of the next generation of farmers and ranchers, promoting South Dakota’s product, fostering value added Ag for a stronger economy, preserving habitat for future generations, fueling South Dakota with home-grown ethanol, and providing property tax relief to our state’s land owners.
