Press Release- Sutton Releases “Planting Seeds for Growth” Ag Plan at Rapid City Press Conference Today 11 AM MT

RAPID CITY - Senator Billie Sutton, candidate for South Dakota Governor, today released his agriculture-centered plan entitled “Planting Seeds for Growth: A Plan to Support Our Family Farmers and Ranchers.”

The plan outlines Sutton’s priorities in advocating for our family farmers and ranchers to bolster agriculture in South Dakota by build our markets, ensuring success of the next generation of farmers and ranchers, promoting South Dakota’s product, fostering value added Ag for a stronger economy, preserving habitat for future generations, fueling South Dakota with home-grown ethanol, and providing property tax relief to our state’s land owners.

Regarding the plan, Sutton said:

"My plan to support our family farmers and ranchers is about preserving our way of life in rural South Dakota for generations to come. South Dakota farmers and ranchers are some of the most resilient people I know. We overcome floods, drought, hail, wind, and winter storms like Atlas. Agriculture is key to growth in South Dakota, and I look forward to working with my fellow farmers and ranchers across the state to grow a stronger South Dakota."

In conjunction with the release of the plan, Sutton will host a press conference in Rapid City to discuss the plan at 11 AM MT on Today, August 23, which will take place at the Central States Fair at the livestock show ring south of the Soule Building.
