"He’s a pro-life Democrat who supports gun rights and pledges fiscal conservatism rather than tax and spend." Argus Leader, Editorial Endorsement of Billie Sutton, 10/18/18

Faith

“My faith has seen me through every challenge. When I woke up after the accident and learned that I would not walk again, my faith gave me hope. It turns out God had other plans for my life – plans to prosper me, and not to harm me, plans to give me hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). The values I learned on the ranch, in the rodeo arena, and in church are the values that guide me today – and will guide me as Governor.”

Billie Sutton grew up on the family ranch in Burke, where he learned the South Dakota values of hard work, honesty, integrity, faith and family.

A rodeo cowboy, Billie turned pro. When a bronc flipped over on Billie, paralyzing him, his back was broken but his spirit wasn’t. That’s where Billie’s story really begins. “My faith, family, and neighbors were there for me. I can’t walk today, but thanks to them I can still ride.”
